Silicone Cutting Board

INEEDS has been involved in silicone R&D and production for a decade, with its own mold shop and end-to-end quality control. The two Silicone Cutting Board models are developed, tooled, and produced in-house from start to finish.

The rectangular 35×30 cm model is part of our large silicone cutting boards for kitchen line and includes juice grooves that help keep the countertop dry when cutting meat or fruit. The round 30 cm diameter model is 2.5 cm thick, designed for heavier chopping and cleaver work. Both are platinum-cured, one-piece molded, and rated for use from -40°C to 230°C. FDA and LFGB food-contact documentation is available.

Design & Construction

Thick Profile for Stability

The rectangular model measures approximately 2 cm thick, and the round model is about 2.5 cm. The added thickness helps reduce warping and denting during heavy use.

Juice Groove on the Rectangular Model

The rectangular board includes a juice groove and raised rim that collect liquid from meat or fruit. The round model has a flat cutting surface with a raised rim, intended for heavy chopping where a groove could interfere with the strike zone.

In-House Design

These silicone cutting boards for kitchen are proprietary designs developed from mold to finished product in our own facility, not open-mold stock items.

Knife-Friendly Surface

The silicone surface has enough give to cushion the blade, which helps reduce edge wear compared with harder surfaces. The bottom has a non-slip pattern to keep the board in place on wet counters.

Flexible and Dishwasher Safe

The boards can be rolled for storage, rinsed after use, and placed in the dishwasher. The one-piece molding has no seams or joints where food particles can collect.

Dual-Purpose Design

Rated from -40°C to 230°C, the boards can be used as a cutting surface and as a trivet for hot cookware.

Compliance & Safety

The boards are made from platinum-cured food-grade silicone, which is BPA-free and phthalate-free. The material is non-porous, making it easy to rinse and clean.

Compliance documentation covers FDA food-contact requirements, LFGB, EU 1935/2004, and REACH SVHC. Color migration testing is available, and the pigments are mixed into the silicone before curing so the color is integrated into the material rather than applied as a surface coating.

Production Notes

INEEDS follows a six-step production sequence for Silicone Thick Cutting Boards. Each step includes a quality check.

• Incoming inspection: Silicone batches are tested for hardness, tensile strength, and residues before use.
• Mixing and coloring: Food-grade color masterbatch is blended into the compound for consistent color.
• Vulcanization molding: The board, rim, and juice groove are formed in one shot using a vacuum press.
• Secondary curing: Post-curing reduces volatiles and helps achieve a low-odor product.
• Trimming and full inspection: Flash is removed, and each piece is checked for dimensions, thickness, and surface quality.
• Final QC and packing: Compliance documentation and batch samples are verified before shipment.

Q1: Which model should I choose, rectangular or round?

A: The rectangular model includes a juice groove and is intended for everyday meal preparation. The round model has a flat cutting surface and extra thickness, making it more suitable for heavy chopping. Many buyers stock both to cover different use cases.

Q2: Can a hot pot be placed directly on the board?

A: The material is rated from -40°C to 230°C, so it can be used as a trivet under hot cookware. Brief contact with a pot fresh off the stove is acceptable within this temperature range.

A: The round model is designed for heavy chopping. A flat surface provides a stable strike zone, and a groove could collect debris during forceful cutting. For everyday tasks that produce liquid, the rectangular model with a juice groove is the better choice.
